Frequently asked questions

What does Sustainability measure?

Five weighted categories, App Size & Optimisation, Energy Efficiency, Compatibility & Longevity, Data Handling Efficiency, and Code & Dependency Footprint. They roll up to a single 0–100 score and a Bronze/Silver/Gold/Platinum tier.

How is the score calculated?

Each category has a documented formula over measured inputs, for example energy combines CPU, memory and background use with penalties for energy-heavy SDKs, and app size compares your binary against the category benchmark. Categories without entered inputs fall back to control-completion scoring.

Where do the metric values come from?

In the current phase you enter them in the Metrics tab; values are stored with their source. Automated benchmark ingestion from app-intelligence connectors is planned but not live yet.

Which standards does it cover?

CSRD (EU sustainability reporting, with ESRS clauses), ISO 14001 (environmental management) and the GHG Protocol. The regulatory matrix lets you set NotMet/Partial/Met per clause and link each to your controls.

What does the AI do?

It provides advisory analysis only, control guidance, gap analysis, clause mapping, improvement suggestions and audit-readiness verdicts, powered by Claude. It never performs actions, and every exchange is logged.

How do apps get into Sustainability?

Inside the appLockr platform your portfolio syncs automatically from the shell's app context; standalone users can add apps manually. Each app gets its own sustainability assessment.
